INKtober DAY 20 – Sally

INKtober Day 20 - Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas
INKtober Day 20 – Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas

My set of sketch cards from The Nightmare Before Christmas is completed! I have been very busy. In the past 18 days, we have seen a set of nine cards from the Addams Family and a set of nine cards from from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I have been extremely busy! That said, there is no time to rest. I want these 18 cards colored and ready to sell in 13 days at Tyler Comic Con. That means I need then colored TODAY. If I can just keep these multiple distractions at bay, this should be easy. Right now my chihuahua is screaming at me because he needs to go potty…. grrrr…. Be right back…..

Okay, dogs are walked. Gotta hurry before it is time to turn the chicken I am smoking outside. Multi-tasking.

For today’s INKtober installment of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, I tweaked her looks just a hair. I took her length down a bit. Her neck is not quite as long. If I were to develop her for a run in a comic book, I would not make her quite so long. I would also take a foot or two out of Jack’s height as well. The proportions do not work well in a comic book format.

I wonder how a comic book would work with The Nightmare Before Christmas…. Hmmmm…. The issue is that the movie is a musical. A comic book has no sound. The musical element is lost. The only way to get this back is to write the script in poetry with a rhymic pattern that matches throughout the pages of the tale. If Disney wishes to give this theory a shot, they know my email box is open. Just drop me a note!!!

Gotta get coloring. Later!
